Είπαμε: Υπάρχει και η "soft power"...

Η Ελλάδα μόνο αν τηρήσει τις μεταρρυθμίσεις θα συνεχιστεί η συζήτηση για το χρέος. Η ΕΕ στη συμφωνία δεσμεύεται ότι θα υπάρξει διαπραγμάτευση για το χρέος.

Αναφορικά με την κατάσταση στην Συρία τόνισε ότι το καθεστώς του Μπασάρ αλ Άσαντ είναι αυτό που προκαλεί το πρόβλημα και πρέπει να σταματήσει να πλήττει τον πληθυσμό, αλλά παράλληλα θα πρέπει να καταπολεμηθεί η τρομοκρατία του ISIS. Για όλα αυτά όπως είπε χρειάζεται μια πολιτική διαδικασία που θα στηρίζεται στην συνεισφορά όλων των χωρών της περιοχής.

Soft power

Soft power is a concept developed by Joseph Nye of Harvard University to describe the ability to attract and co-opt rather than coerce, use force or give money as a means of persuasion. Soft power is the ability to shape the preferences of others through appeal and attraction. A defining feature of soft power is that it is noncoercive; the currency of soft power is culture, political values, and foreign policies. Recently, the term has also been used in changing and influencing social and public opinion through relatively less transparent channels and lobbying through powerful political and non-political organizations. In 2012, Nye explained that with soft power, "the best propaganda is not propaganda", further explaining that during the Information Age, "credibility is the scarcest resource".

What is Soft Power? Soft Power quite simply is the ability of an entity to exert its will on otherwise without the use of force or coercion. A good example would be utilizing diplomatic clout to work with other nations to achieve your goals. There are many factors that play a role in understanding a nations Real Soft Power and its Potential Soft Power. As it stands, India has very little Real Soft Power, but it has a decent amount of Potential Soft Power.

Factor #1: Diplomatic Relations With Other Nations. As it stands, I have been developing and expanding the Indian Foreign Ministry at a reasonable pace. As it stands, I have one Deputy Minister and one department manager. We are currently expanding our Ambassador Corps to help with the development of relations with other nations, primarily in EDEN and somewhat in Terra.

Strong allies increase our potential damage in offensives as well as provide additional security to defend our territory from hostile forces.

Factor #2: Diplomatic Clout. What is Diplomatic Clout? It would be respect on the global stage. Maintaining high levels of respect by showing commitment to allies and unquestionable integrity play a major role in ensuring a nation has diplomatic clout. Alongside with these two factors, you need to realize it takes time to achieve substantial levels of clout with your allies. Once you have this, people will listen to you. Nations will follow you.

Factor #3: Positive Energy and Leadership. For anyone to take your opinion seriously and then act on it, you must also be a leader on said topics as well as stay positive and energize other nations. No alliance has been successful without definitive leaders within the group, in the form of nations taking the lead or persons using rhetoric and action to gain the support of the player base.

Understanding Hard Power



Hard Power is best described as the effective use of force or threat of force to achieve your goals. This can be achieved either through military means or actively supporting (through funds or personnel) said nations adversaries. There are several primary factors that play into defining a nations Hard Power.

Factor #1: National Military Capabilities. If your nation can do significant amounts of damage on the battlefield, then the greater the damage, the more this will play in establishing yourself as capable of effectively using hard power. This also includes the efficiency of a nations military units and the ability to effectively utilize available resources.

Factor #2: Power Projection. The capacity to deploy, in a timely manner, an effective strike force that can turn the tide of important foreign battles. An example would be deploying into an enemy state and using those forces to overcome the Host Nations entire force to win Resistance Wars or confuse domestic civilian forces.

Factor #3: Joint Operations Capability. The ability to effectively plan, prepare and then orchestrate military operations alongside foreign forces. Being able to work effectively with alliance commands or allied military leadership councils plays a major role in making yourself a desired ally. This requires a solid mix of competence in the military leadership as well as the leadership of the foreign ministry to help all nations involved achieve their goals.

India's Current Soft and Hard Power



As it stands, India remains a fairly small player on the global stage, militarily, diplomatically and economically. The key to India's future lies with an effective foreign ministry and the capacity to organize and deploy a government funded strike force. This would be most effective if done with government funds to give our best hitters the food and guns they need to move from place to place and place substantial damage in a timely manner.

If India's ensures that an elite force of government tanks, such as an Indian Special Forces or Indian Strike Team, is in place, they should also maintain the capacity to rapidly deploy as well as produce sizable chunks of damage. As Congressmen of Tamil Nadu, I have been actively pushing for the creation of a national military force and as Minister of Foreign Affairs I've been actively expanding our Foreign Ministry. Do your part by running for Congress and joining a military unit.
